ABOUT THE OWNERS

I'm Teresa "Thaimi" Freeman. My husband Rob and I own Fit for an Angel Children's Boutique.

Growing up in Puerto Rico, I heard questions like "Where did you get that beautiful dress?" and "Are your clothes hand-made?" all the time. You see, as a child, I had a truly fabulous wardrobe! And no matter where I went, I became the center of attention with my magnificent clothes. Did I grow up rich? No, but I managed to dress like I did. Was I royalty? No, but I surely wore clothes that were fit for a princess.

What was my secret?…simple. Fortunately for me, my father, "Don Miguel from Spain", was the "King of Children's Clothes" on our beautiful little Island. He was the biggest rep for all the best lines. Don Miguel Fernandez made children and their families happy all over Puerto Rico with the exclusive clothing he sold in his many stores. But I suspect what he loved most was seeing my sister Mayte and me with those special smiles and wide eyes as we modeled exquisite pieces of his diverse inventory. I can still feel the thrill and sheer joy of pulling a delightful new dress from the racks and trying it on. Now, I won't say he spoiled my sister and me, but those fantastic moments usually ended with having to make a bit more space in our already over-crowded closets. It was a child's dream come true!

Those early experiences left me with an acute eye and deep appreciation for beautiful children's clothing…it is a part of my heritage…a part of Don Miguel's legacy. 

In the ensuing years, I worked closely with my father in all aspects of his children's clothing businesses. He tutored me on how to discern the finest materials and the most fashionable, well-tailored cuts, and which were the best designer lines in the industry. Today, I bring that precious knowledge to Fit for an Angel Children's Boutique so that I can offer high-quality, premium clothes with excellent value. But I do not stand alone in this angel's wonderland. Don Miguel is here with me, allowing me to reap the benefits of his vast experience and his wealth of resources. I am also fortunate to have the support of my stepmother, Hilda Velez of Kolorines Children's Clothing on Calle Loiza, Puerto Rico, another of the successful stores founded by my father.

Fit for an Angel Children's Boutique was born of a lifetime of dreams and a desire to see those same special smiles and wide eyes that my father saw when my sister and I were little.
